High Step-up DC-DC Converter by Switched Inductor and Voltage Multiplier Cell for Automotive Applications

Abstract - This paper elaborates two novel proposed topologies (type-I and type-II) of the high step- up DC-DC converter using switched inductor and voltage multiplier cell. The advantages of these proposed topologies are the less voltage stress on semiconductor devices, low device count, high power conversion efficiency, high switch utilization factor and high diode utilization factor. We analyze the Type-I and Type-II topologies operating principle and mathematical analysis in detail in continuous conduction mode. High-intensity discharge lamp for the automotive application can use the derived topologies. The proposed converters give better performance when compared to the existing types. Also, it is found that the proposed type-II converter has relatively higher voltage gain compared to the type-I converter. A 40 W, 12 V input voltage and 72 V output voltage has developed for the type-II converter and the performances are validated.

Design of LED Luminaire for Parking Garage Hao Cui* and Si-Hyun Park†
Abstract – This study aims to design a zonal lumen for parking garage LED lightings of a slim appearance and 20 W/2,000 lm capacity and to fabricate a lighting luminaire accordingly. The frame is of a one-dimensional bar type with a reverse V-shaped section, with LED chips arranged along both sides. To maximize the 60° to 80° zonal lumen, the geometric structure was designed with the apex of the reverse V-shaped section at 40° and both sides at 70°. As for the LED light source, focusing lenses with narrower full-width half-maximum (FWHM) in luminous intensity were used. A ray-tracing simulation method was utilized for the zonal lumen simulation of the given structure. An actual hardware of luminaire based on the simulation results was fabricated and characterized. The suggested model is meant to develop LED lightings with a proper level of zonal lumen required in parking garages.

Abstract – A bidirectional DC-DC converter (BDC) is an indispensable electrical unit for the electric
vehicles (EVs). High efficiency, high power density, isolation, light weight and reliability are all
essential requirements for BDC. In this paper, a 3 kW BDC for the battery charger of EVs is proposed.
The proposed converter consists of a half-bridge structure on the primary side and an isolation
transformer and a synchronous rectifier structure on the secondary side. With this topology, minimum
number of switching devices are required for bidirectional power flow between the two dc buses of
EVs. The easy implementation of the synchronous rectification gives advantages in terms of
efficiency, cost and flexibility. The proposed BDC achieves high efficiency when operating in both
modes (step-up and step-down). A 3 kW prototype is implemented to verify theoretical analysis
and the performance of the proposed converter.

ABSTRACT
This paper proposed synchronous rectifier in forward converter including resonance reset did not get efficiency drive waveform for that is existent dead time period. Therefore, proposed synchronous rectifier of new way accordingly to solve problem by happened drive circuit. Confirmed usefulness and practicality by drive circuit that compose experiment circuit and propose through experiment result. Input voltage of experiment circuit are 380V, and output voltage are 12V, and maximum output current is 20A, and maximum output was 100W. And, to report the experimental results the core losses of VRM inductor. The VRM, that has a output voltage 1.5V, output current 60A, maximum power of 90W. Experimental results verify, the VRM has a almost same data of fast transient response, a efficiency test with high flux and ferrite inductor. A maximum power conversion efficiency of the experimental VRM was measured at 92% within 0.2% load regulation.

Abstract
This thesis aims to present the design and practice of a digital electronic ballast for fluorescent lamps. It introduces the characteristics of lamp, DC/DC converter, power factor correction circuit IC 6561, and resonant circuit IC 6574, The electronic ballast is developed by using IC 6561and IC 6574, and other circuits to meet the need for high power factor, long lamp life, high luminous efficiency, and dimming control. Also the circuit operation principle, analysis of carefully designed circuit parameters, practical consideration of self-excitation, and dimming control are explained in detail .The test of real design is carried out at last, and the result shows the proposed digital electronic ballast can fulfill the design purposes.

This paper present s the 3- phase hybrid series active filter in order to compensate for harmonics currents , voltage fluctuating and voltage unbalance in power systems . The electric power systems are based on an alternating current and voltage which are sinusoidal in nature. Computers and sensitive electronic control equipment in industrial and commercial plants demand a high quality electric power supply . With significant development of power electronics technology , the proliferation of nonlinear loads such as static power converters has deteriorated power quality in power systems . Notably , nonlinear loads resulted in harmonic distortion , become a serious problem in many industrial equipment . Therefore, utility power quality has become an important issue recently .

Abstract
Biomedical engineering deals with the application of various concepts of engineering in the field of medicine and biology mainly for health care purposes thereby improving patients quality of life. Out of the various techniques, the primary focus is to develop a reliable and optimized technique for electro simulation of heart. The present work deals with an improvement in the design of control system for regulating the heart rate of a pacemaker in an efficient way. An Adaptive PID controller based on the Delta rule and Adaptive Correction Factor is proposed in this paper. The Adaptive PID controller is implemented using an Adaptive Loop incorporating MIT rule with the Delta rule. The PID parameters are modified by an Adaptive Correction Factor. Simulation results were performed on the developed cardiovascular system of humans and results show that the proposed adaptive PID controller produces superior control performance than conventional PID controller. Simulations were done in Matlab/Simulink.
