(CercleFinance.com) - Legrand annonce le rachat de SMS, le leader du marché brésilien des UPS (Alimentation Statique sans Interruption - onduleur). Cette acquisition renforce les positions de Legrand au Brésil ainsi que son offre de performance énergétique.

Legrand entend accélérer son développement dans les nouvelles
économies dont le chiffre d'affaires devrait représenter cette année 35% des ventes totales du groupe.

Après les rachats d'Alpes Technologies, de Zucchini et plus récemment d'Inform et de Meta System Energy, Legrand poursuit, avec l'acquisition de SMS, son développement dans la performance énergétique, une activité en forte croissance.

Implanté à proximité de Sao Paulo et dans le nord du Brésil, SMS qui dispose de trois sites de production et emploie plus de 1 100 salariés, a réalisé en 2010 un chiffre d'affaires de près de 80 ME et une marge opérationnelle à deux chiffres.
