An Effective Solution for Regeneration Protection in Uninterruptible Power Supply

Abstract – In this paper, a regeneration protection solution is proposed to address the DC-link overvoltage issue and the unequal power sharing in the parallel Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems. First, a DC-link Voltage Protection (DCVP) control strategy is proposed to protect the inverter against the excessive DC-link voltage that may trigger the protection mechanism of the UPS system. In addition, an active power sharing control strategy by regulating the virtual resistance is proposed to solve the circulating current caused by UPS regeneration issue. Finally, the feasibility of the proposed regeneration protection solution is verified by experimental results from the parallel UPS system prototype.

ZVS/ZCS MĚNIČ PRO INDUKČNÍ OHŘEV- ZVS/ZCS CONVERTER FOR INDUCTION HEATING- BAKALÁŘSKÁ PRÁCE BACHELOR'S THESIS AUTOR PRÁCE AUTHOR Jan Gadas-BRNO UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY FAKULTA ELEKTROTECHNIKY

 ABSTRACT
The bachelor thesis deals with the design of high-frequency inverters with low-loss switching applied as an induction heater. Four known inverter topologies are presented in the thesis. The aim of the thesis is to select a suitable topology on which the induction heating will be implemented according to the theoretical knowledge found and subsequent simulations. The result of the semester thesis is a functional low-power model of an induction heater implemented on a PCB. The result of the bachelor thesis is high-power model of an induction heater for industrial use. Functionality tests and comparison of measured data with simulations are performed for both. For industrial induction heater, a melting test was performed with analysis of element content on spectrum analyzers to demonstrate use.

 Abstract
The thesis deals with switching power supplies and theirs characteristics. At the beginning of this thesis is a division of switching power supplies, describes the principles function and the basic characteristics circuits. They are then made suggestions of circuit components for Forward, Flyback and Push-Pull switching power supply. On the basis of simulation models are made in the environment OrCAD / PSpice subject for Power Semiconductor Systems II. At the end of the thesis simulated results are comparing with theoretical assumptions.
