The book describes the theory of the electromagnetic field in the volume necessary for the practical calculation of the majority of stationary and alternating magnetic fields encountered in the technique of electrical communication, radio engineering, electronic engineering, power engineering, automation devices, etc. Particular attention is drawn to the graphical construction of field paintings, useful for mastering complex physical laws and being the first and necessary step in applying the theory to practice. A significant place in the book is devoted to approximate calculations of electric and magnetic fields by the method of grids. Their mastering frees the calculator from the ungrateful task of finding not always sufficiently justified approximations to the boundary conditions under which the differential equations of mathematical physics admit the so-called "exact" solutions.
