Leading-Edge Power Modules for the New Era in Traction Converters Today, 55 percent of the world’s population live in urban areas, a proportion that is expected to increase to 68 percent by 2050 [1]. With this ever-increasing urban population, in combination with an increasing number of commuters on public transport, and a growing awareness of energy-efficiency and emission-free transportation systems, traction application is back in the limelight.
